Starting From
- Peak Season (June–October | Dec 15–Jan 2): USD $21,600 per person (12 Nights) (~ $1,800 PPPN)
-
Green / Shoulder Season:
USD $16,800 per person (12 Nights) (~ $1,400 PPPN)
Seasons
June – October (Peak Season)
Cool, dry weather with excellent wildlife viewing conditions. Vegetation is thinner, making animals easier to spot, while water sources attract large concentrations of wildlife. The migration is typically found in the northern Serengeti and Masai Mara ecosystems during this period.
November – December (Short Rains / Shoulder Season)
The landscape becomes greener following seasonal rains, creating beautiful photographic conditions. Wildlife viewing remains strong, and the migration generally moves through the eastern and central Serengeti.
January – March (Green Season / Calving Season)
The southern Serengeti plains around the Ndutu and Kusini areas become the focus of the migration as wildebeest gather to calve. This attracts high predator activity and creates some of East Africa’s most dramatic wildlife encounters.
April – May (Long Rains / Low Season)
Heavier rains can make some areas less accessible, and travel logistics can be more challenging. However, it can still be a somewhat quiet time in the parks, with vibrant scenery and excellent value for those willing to work around weather conditions. During this period, the migration is typically found in the central and western Serengeti corridor as the herds continue their journey northward.
Optional Add-ons
Ngorongoro Crater (1–2 Nights)
Add a stay in the Ngorongoro Highlands and descend into the crater for a full-day game drive. Often referred to as Africa’s “Garden of Eden,” the crater supports one of the continent’s highest concentrations of wildlife, including excellent opportunities to spot black rhino, lion, elephant, and large plains game in a compact area.
Stay at properties such as The Highlands / Ngorongoro Crater Lodge / Plantation Lodge or similar.
Tarangire National Park (2–3 Nights)
Known for its giant baobab trees, large elephant herds, and quieter atmosphere, Tarangire offers a different pace from the Serengeti. During the dry season, wildlife congregates around the Tarangire River, creating excellent game viewing and photographic opportunities.
Stay at camps such as Oliver’s Camp / Chem Chem Lodge / Tarangire Treetops or similar.
Laikipia Region (Premium Extension Option)
For travelers on the Premium itinerary, Laikipia can be added for 2–3 nights to experience one of Kenya’s leading conservation regions. Activities extend beyond traditional game drives and may include walking safaris, horseback riding, camel trekking, and conservation-focused experiences.
Stay at camps such as Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp / Borana Lodge or similar.
