Your Adventure Begins…
This 10-day Serengeti and Beyond Safari links three of Tanzania’s most exciting wildlife areas in one seamless flying circuit. Start in the eastern Serengeti, a remote corridor known for outstanding cheetah and lion sightings. Continue to the northern Serengeti where, in season, the Great Migration thunders across the Mara River. Finish in Ruaha National Park, the southern jewel famed for huge elephant herds, diverse habitats and a quiet, off-the-beaten-track feel. Throughout, you’ll enjoy polished service, beautiful rooms, and flexible days shaped around wildlife, golden light and your own pace.
Day 1-3
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and connect by light aircraft to the eastern Serengeti. As you land on the remote airstrip, the vast, open plains and scattered kopjes set the scene for your stay at Namiri Plains. After settling into camp, head out on your first afternoon game drive and toast the sunset with sweeping views and the sounds of the savannah all around.
Over the next two days, explore one of the Serengeti’s best big-cat territories. The area is renowned for its cheetah, lion and hyena, and sightings are often uncrowded thanks to the camp’s secluded location. Enjoy unhurried morning and afternoon drives, optional bush breakfasts, and time back in camp to relax by the pool or on your private deck as wildlife wanders across the plains.
Days 4-6
Fly north to Sayari Camp, set close to the Mara River in the northern Serengeti. This region offers a very different feel: rolling hills, rocky outcrops and the life-giving river that draws animals year-round. Between July and October, this is one of the best places to search for the Great Migration and the dramatic river crossings it’s famous for.
Spend your days on game drives along the riverbanks and across the surrounding grasslands, tracking lion, leopard, elephant and large herds of wildebeest and zebra. Between activities, enjoy the elevated views from camp, a swim in the pool or a quiet hour on your veranda with binoculars in hand. Evenings end with drinks around the fire and dinners under a sky bright with stars.
Days 7-10
From the Serengeti you fly south to Ruaha National Park, a vast, lesser-known wilderness where baobabs dot the ridges and sand rivers carve through the bush. Your base is Jabali Ridge, stylishly built into a cluster of giant boulders, with panoramic views over the landscape.
Game drives reveal large elephant and buffalo herds, healthy lion and leopard populations, and an impressive variety of antelope species. Ruaha is also a birding hotspot, with raptors and colourful migrants adding to the spectacle. Depending on conditions, you may have the chance to join a guided walking safari or night drive for a different perspective on the bush. On your final day (Day 10), enjoy your final breakfast before waving goodbye to Jabali and heading back to Msembe for your flight to Dar es Salaam/Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) to check-in for your international flight home.
