Your Adventure Begins…
This compact Zambia journey introduces you to two very different sides of the country. Start in wildlife-rich South Luangwa, splitting your time between a comfortable riverside lodge close to the park entrance and an intimate bush camp deep inside the reserve. Here, you’ll enjoy a mix of day and night drives plus guided walks in one of Africa’s finest walking-safari destinations.
You then swap inland wilderness for the spray and drama of Victoria Falls. Your charming lodge on the Zambezi River offers a homely atmosphere, river views and a range of in-house activities, from gentle sunset cruises to excursions to the Falls themselves.
Day 1
Arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport [LUN] in Lusaka, where a representative will meet you and assist with immigration and your connection to Mfuwe. After a short scheduled flight, your guide greets you at Mfuwe Airport and your safari begins immediately as you drive to South Luangwa.
Flatdogs Camp sits on the east bank of the Luangwa River, right by the main park entrance. Game often wanders through camp – elephants, giraffe and bushbuck are regular visitors. Settle into one of this camp’s luxury safari tents, enjoy your first game drive and toast your first night under the stars of the Luangwa Valley.

Days 2-5
After breakfast, you will be transferred from Flatdogs Camp to Nkonzi Bush Camp. The journey takes you along the “05 Road,” heading deeper into the park and away from the busier central areas. Your destination is Nkonzi Bush Camp, a small, intimate camp set on the dry Mushilashi River, with this quiet corner of the park almost to itself.
Accommodation is in simple but comfortable Meru-style tents; the focus here is firmly on the wilderness experience. Days are spent exploring on a combination of guided walks and game drives, tracking elephant, buffalo, giraffe and an impressive variety of antelope, as well as predators such as lion and leopard. Nights in camp are filled with the sounds of the African bush and clear, star-filled skies.

Days 6-8
Today you leave South Luangwa behind and fly via Mfuwe and Lusaka to Livingstone (Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport [LVI]), gateway to Victoria Falls. On arrival, a road transfer (around 45 minutes) brings you to Waterberry Zambezi Lodge, set in lush gardens on the banks of the Zambezi River, about 25 km upstream from the Falls.
With its relaxed, homely feel, Waterberry is the perfect base for your final days. A variety of in-house activities is included: visit the mighty Victoria Falls, take leisurely boat trips on the Zambezi, enjoy birding walks, try your hand at fishing or head out for a riverside picnic. There is also ample time to simply unwind by the pool or on the lawns, watching the river drift by.
Additional adventure activities in the Livingstone area – from white-water rafting to zip-lining and bungee jumping – can be arranged at extra cost if you’d like to add more adrenaline to your stay.
